Hanford, CA – The National Weather Service in Hanford is warning residents across Central California to prepare for the possibility of isolated thunderstorms late Tuesday night through Wednesday evening, as an upper-level disturbance moves onshore from the Pacific.
Forecasters say there is a 10–25% chance that parts of the San Joaquin Valley and adjacent foothills could experience a few strong storms, bringing lightning, gusty winds, and brief bursts of heavy rain. The storm window will begin late tonight and continue through Wednesday evening.
While the overall threat remains limited, the NWS cautions that any thunderstorms that do develop could produce dangerous lightning and sudden wind gusts. Residents are urged to move indoors immediately if thunder is heard and to wait at least 30 minutes after the last lightning strike before resuming outdoor activities.
Temperatures will remain seasonably mild, but unsettled weather could linger into midweek before drier conditions return later Thursday.
