Paso Robles, CA – Freezing temperatures continue across inland areas of San Luis Obispo County and the Southern Salinas Valley tonight, where the National Weather Service says sub-freezing lows will persist through early Wednesday morning.

According to the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard office, a Freeze Warning remains in effect until 8 a.m. Wednesday, with temperatures expected to fall to 28–30 degrees in the coldest interior valleys. The warning includes communities such as Paso Robles, Atascadero, Templeton, Shandon, Creston, San Miguel, Carrizo Plain, and Lake Nacimiento.

Forecasters say clear skies and calm winds are allowing temperatures to drop quickly, creating widespread frost and hard freeze conditions that may damage crops, harm sensitive vegetation, and pose risks to unprotected outdoor plumbing. Agricultural areas and low-lying basins are expected to feel the greatest impacts.

Residents are encouraged to bring pets indoors, cover or move tender plants, and insulate exposed pipes before temperatures bottom out early Wednesday. Conditions are expected to improve shortly after sunrise as temperatures begin to rebound.
