Hanford, CA – Dense fog continues to blanket much of Central California, creating hazardous driving conditions and reduced visibility across major roadways. Drivers in affected areas, including I-5 and Highways 99 and 198, should prepare for visibility as low as 100 feet through this morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Hanford, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday. This advisory impacts parts of the San Joaquin Valley, with visibility dropping below a quarter-mile in many areas. Motorists are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain a safe following distance to avoid accidents.

Fog-related hazards are expected to ease by late morning as temperatures rise. The forecast for Wednesday shows decreasing clouds, with a high near 60°F and calm winds. However, nighttime temperatures will drop to around 40°F, leading to potential fog redevelopment early Thursday morning.

Looking ahead, Thursday brings a 50% chance of showers mainly before noon, followed by mostly sunny skies and a high near 56°F. Friday and Saturday will remain partly sunny, with highs in the mid-to-upper 50s and a slight chance of showers by the weekend.

Residents are encouraged to check updated advisories and adjust travel plans as necessary. Drivers should avoid unnecessary travel during low visibility hours to ensure safety.
