Little Rock, Ark. – Two EF-1 tornadoes tore across central Arkansas on Sunday evening, carving through Pulaski, Faulkner, Lonoke, and White counties with winds topping 110 mph and leaving behind paths up to 11 miles long.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, both tornadoes touched down April 20, with the first hitting near Lake Winona at 5:23 p.m. and the second near Magness at 6:55 p.m. Each storm reached EF-1 intensity, causing tree damage and scattered structural impacts but resulting in no injuries or deaths.

The Lake Winona tornado traveled 7.7 miles with peak winds of 110 mph and a maximum width of 350 yards. Later that evening, the Magness tornado spun up with winds reaching 105 mph, cutting an 11.3-mile path and stretching 500 yards wide at its broadest point.

Emergency management crews responded swiftly, though no shelters were activated. Residents in impacted areas are urged to stay alert for weakened trees, debris on secondary roads, and localized power outages.

Though no further tornado activity is expected this week, the NWS says more storm chances may return by Friday. Damage assessments continue, and updates will be shared as needed.
