Central Arkansas Rain: Thunder Threat Fades by Tuesday Evening, Sunshine Returns Wednesday

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Storms will move through much of central Arkansas today, bringing morning showers and a few thunderstorms before drier, calmer weather returns by midweek. Some storms could produce heavy downpours between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., creating slick roads and brief visibility issues around the Little Rock metro and nearby highways.

According to the National Weather Service in North Little Rock, rain chances taper to about 50% tonight before skies gradually clear. Highs will reach near 78°F Monday and rise slightly Tuesday as lingering thunder chances fade after sunset. Winds remain light from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

By Wednesday, Arkansans can expect partly sunny skies and highs near 77°F, followed by a stretch of mild, dry weather through the end of the week. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s, making for cooler mornings and comfortable afternoons—ideal for outdoor activities and commuting.

Sunny skies continue Thursday and Friday with highs in the upper 70s, marking a calm, dry pattern to close out the week.
