Little Rock, AR – Arkansas residents can expect a stretch of warm, dry weather through the weekend and into early next week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Little Rock.

Forecasters said Thursday that high pressure moving in from the Desert Southwest will bring gradually rising temperatures beginning Friday, September 26, and persisting through Tuesday, September 30. High temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-to-upper 80s statewide, with some locations reaching 90 degrees by early next week.

According to the NWS, overnight lows will remain mild, generally in the mid-50s to lower 60s, offering cooler mornings before daytime highs climb again. The forecast calls for light winds and no significant rainfall chances through at least Tuesday.

The dry pattern follows several weeks of relatively stable late-summer weather across the region. Meteorologists note that the seasonally warm temperatures could impact outdoor activities, farming operations, and ongoing drought conditions in parts of the state.

Residents are advised to plan for warm afternoons, especially those traveling, working outdoors, or attending weekend events. With no rain relief in sight, soil and vegetation will continue to dry out, potentially increasing fire danger levels in coming days.
