WICHITA, Kan. – Drivers in south-central Kansas faced reduced visibility early Saturday as patchy fog developed across the region, with some areas dropping below one mile. The National Weather Service warned that travel could be hazardous through midmorning.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, fog is expected to lift by late morning, leaving behind clear skies and highs in the low 70s. Conditions remain calm through Sunday, with dry air and sunshine dominating the weekend. Winds will be light but may shift from the south by Sunday afternoon.

The next significant change arrives Monday evening into early Tuesday, when scattered thunderstorms could move into central and southeast Kansas. Forecasters say storms will likely be isolated, but locally heavy rain and gusty winds cannot be ruled out. Severe weather is not currently expected.

Residents in Wichita, Salina, and Hutchinson should use caution during Saturday morning travel and keep headlights on in low-visibility areas. Looking ahead, those with outdoor plans Monday night into Tuesday should stay weather aware and monitor updates in case storms strengthen.

Hazardous weather outlooks remain in effect, and additional advisories could be issued if conditions worsen.
