Fort Worth, TX – Rain and clouds are set to increase across Central and North Texas today as a weather system moves from south to north, bringing showers and a chance of storms into the evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, light rain will likely begin along and south of the US-84 corridor Thursday morning. As the day progresses, cloud cover and rain chances will spread northward, reaching areas near the Red River by late evening. Highs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Sherman, and Canton are expected to reach the mid to upper 70s before showers move in.
Central Texas cities such as Waco and Killeen will see cooler highs in the mid to upper 60s due to persistent cloud cover. By Thursday night, temperatures will fall into the upper 50s and low 60s across the region, with scattered thunderstorms possible, especially near Killeen and Palestine.
Drivers should plan for reduced visibility and slick roads during the evening commute. Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts and avoid low-lying flood-prone areas during periods of heavier rain. The unsettled weather is expected to persist into early Friday.
