Birmingham, AL – Residents across Central Alabama are waking up to patchy fog and lingering showers this morning, especially across eastern counties, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Forecasters say a few isolated thunderstorms are possible early today before conditions begin to improve this afternoon. Temperatures will stay warm, topping out in the mid to upper 70s across much of the region — well above average for late November.

After today, dry and mild weather is expected through Monday, offering a break before the next system arrives. Beginning Monday night through Wednesday, another round of rain and storms will move in ahead of a cold front, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures.

By Thanksgiving Day, much colder air will settle across Alabama, with highs expected to fall into the 50s and lows dipping into the 30s by late week.

Travelers are encouraged to monitor forecasts closely as the holiday approaches for updates on timing and rainfall impacts.
