Birmingham, Alabama – Central Alabama faces a mostly cloudy Sunday with intermittent chances for light rain across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, a couple of unsettled days are expected, with on-and-off rain chances continuing, especially during the daytime hours Sunday. Rain coverage is forecast to range between 20 and 50 percent for most locations.
High temperatures are expected to reach the upper 50s to mid-60s across Central Alabama, with slightly warmer readings toward the southeast. Morning winds will be light and variable before shifting to the northeast at 5 to 10 mph during the afternoon behind a frontal boundary.
Forecasters noted that rain showers are expected to remain generally light, with no severe weather anticipated. Cloud cover will dominate the sky, limiting sunshine through much of the day.
Sunday night into Monday will remain mostly cloudy, with lows ranging from the upper 30s in northern areas to the upper 40s and lower 50s farther south. Additional isolated rain showers are possible, particularly across southern sections of the region.
For commuters and outdoor plans, occasional light rain may create damp roadways at times, though widespread travel impacts are not expected.
The National Weather Service advises residents to keep umbrellas handy and stay updated on local forecasts as rain chances continue into the start of the new week.
