Cedar Lake, IN – A 43-year-old man was safely taken into custody Monday after barricading himself inside a residence on Dewey Street, prompting a response from the Northwest Regional SWAT Team.
According to the Cedar Lake Police Department, officers had been working with the man’s family under a court order when the individual became agitated and retreated into his home. SWAT was activated for safety, and negotiators were brought in. The man later surrendered peacefully and was transported to a medical facility. Authorities confirmed there was no threat to the public and no weapons involved.
