Harrisonville, MO – A Warrensburg man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly fleeing from deputies during a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 49 Wednesday afternoon, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 1 p.m. on October 22, the Cass County Criminal Apprehension Unit attempted to stop a black passenger car with a stolen license plate south of Harrisonville. Authorities say the driver refused to stop and fled northbound on I-49, exiting briefly through Harrisonville before re-entering the interstate.
Deputies tried to stop the vehicle using a Grappler Device, but the suspect reportedly drove through a grass median to evade capture. The pursuit continued north toward Peculiar, where the driver allegedly attempted to pass another vehicle, struck an embankment, and became disabled near J Highway. Deputies, assisted by Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers, arrested both occupants without further incident. The vehicle was confirmed stolen from Lee’s Summit.
The driver, identified as David S. Wilson, 39, of Warrensburg, was charged with Aggravated Fleeing a Stop or Detention, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree—all Class D felonies.
Wilson remains held at the Cass County Jail without bond.
