Logansport, IN – Authorities in Cass County are searching for an inmate who allegedly escaped from a community corrections facility Friday afternoon.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a report around 2:47 p.m. on January 11 that an inmate had fled from the Cass County Community Corrections Facility on High Street in Logansport. Officials identified the man as 49-year-old Scott Penman.
Sheriff Edward Schroder said Penman had been at the facility for a work-release program but failed to return from an approved absence. He was last seen in the 1400 block of Michigan Avenue in Logansport.
Penman was serving a three-year sentence issued by Cass County Circuit Court Judge Kitte on October 28, 2024, for possession of methamphetamine and operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI).
