Cass County, IN – A Logansport woman was seriously injured Wednesday morning after her SUV veered off Clifton Avenue and struck a tree, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. The crash occurred around 11:19 a.m. near Stanley Street.
According to Sheriff Ed Schroder, deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash along with the Indiana State Police, Logansport Fire Department, Cass County Fire District #1, Cass County Emergency Management Agency, and Cass County EMS.
Investigators said 43-year-old Amy Neff of Logansport was driving a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer southbound when she lost control and began sliding sideways. The vehicle struck a tree on the west side of the roadway, severely damaging the driver’s side.
Emergency crews extricated Neff from the wreckage before she was taken by ambulance to Parkview Logansport. From there, she was airlifted by medical helicopter to Parkview Trauma Center in Fort Wayne for treatment of serious injuries.
