Carroll County, MD — Two women are facing felony charges after an investigation into a large-scale retail theft operation involving an Ulta Beauty store in Sykesville, with authorities recovering more than $11,000 in stolen merchandise.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Ulta Beauty store at 6400 Ridge Road on Friday, December 12, around 1:07 p.m., after a theft was reported. Investigators were informed the suspects had fled in a black Infiniti shortly before deputies arrived.
A Sykesville Police Department officer later spotted a vehicle matching the description traveling southbound on Route 32 toward Howard County, displaying Maryland temporary registration tags. Deputies were able to identify a possible address connected to the vehicle in Howard County, where officers from the Howard County Police Department located the car at a residence in Jessup, Maryland.
Detectives from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit assisted with a search warrant at the location. Authorities recovered stolen merchandise from both the Sykesville Ulta location and additional thefts believed to be connected to Ulta stores across the region. The total estimated value of the recovered merchandise exceeded $11,000, according to investigators.
The suspects were identified as Dasjanae Teyona Timmons, 23, of Jessup, and Dahmira Monya Laboo, 23, of Severn. Warrants were issued charging both women with theft between $1,500 and $25,000 and organized retail theft, both felony offenses.
Timmons was arrested on December 17, 2025, and Laboo was taken into custody on January 7, 2026. Authorities say Laboo was also found in possession of Suboxone, a controlled dangerous substance, and now faces additional misdemeanor charges.
Both suspects remain held at the Carroll County Detention Center without bond as of Friday.
The sheriff’s office credited assistance from Sykesville Police, Howard County Police, and the Anne Arundel County Police Department Warrant Unit in the investigation.
