Carroll County, IN – A nonresident fisherman is facing multiple charges after Indiana conservation officers say he caught four times the daily bag limit of white bass at Oakdale Dam in Carroll County.

According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Law Enforcement, District 3 officers located the fisherman earlier this week and discovered the alleged violations. Officials say the man also used more than three fishing poles and was cited for littering in a waterway.

State fishing regulations limit the daily bag of white bass to ensure sustainable populations and protect Indiana’s waterways. The DNR reported that criminal charges for over bagging, fishing with excess equipment, and littering will be filed with the Carroll County Prosecutor’s Office.

The case highlights ongoing enforcement efforts by Indiana conservation officers to preserve natural resources and maintain fair access for anglers across the state. The DNR is reminding residents and visitors to review current fishing rules before heading out.
