According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, subtropical air will continue to funnel into the state, fueling afternoon and evening storms each day. Locally heavy rainfall is expected, especially in the Upstate, where Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson could see repeated downpours between 3 and 8 p.m. daily. Temperatures will hover in the mid-80s, but high dew points will make it feel closer to 95°F.
Urban areas and poor-drainage zones face the greatest flood risk. The South Carolina Emergency Management Division advises residents to avoid driving through water-covered roads and to monitor alerts closely. Storms may also bring frequent lightning and brief wind gusts.
