Caribou, Maine – Umbrellas will stay in rotation across Maine this week as a prolonged stretch of chilly, wet weather continues, with steady rain expected to return Thursday night and linger through Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, highs today (Monday) will only reach the upper 40s to low 50s across most of the state, with a 60–75% chance of rain from Frenchville to Bangor. Intermittent showers may ease slightly by midweek, but more widespread rainfall is likely by Thursday night. Areas including Millinocket, Lincoln, and Bar Harbor can expect highs in the low-to-mid 50s through Friday, remaining well below seasonal norms.
Travelers on I-95 and local roads should anticipate wet pavement and limited visibility, especially during evening hours. Residents are advised to delay yardwork and outdoor plans until at least Sunday, when drier air could return—though forecasters say confidence remains low in any significant warming or drying through Memorial Day.
Cold and damp conditions will persist overnight with lows in the 40s, and those relying on outdoor heat sources should monitor safely. Additional updates are expected later this week as the storm track becomes clearer.
