Caribou, ME – Northern Maine will experience a burst of wind and rain to start the week as a fast-moving weather system tracks across the region Monday night, according to the National Weather Service in Caribou.
Forecasters say rain showers will develop Monday evening and continue overnight before tapering off early Tuesday. Behind the front, strong west winds will develop, with gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph, especially across higher terrain and coastal Downeast areas.
Tuesday will remain breezy but gradually dry out through the afternoon. Highs will stay in the 40s and 50s, with cooler air settling in by midweek. Wednesday looks dry, but the weather pattern will stay active, with new systems arriving roughly every 36–48 hours later in the week.
Meteorologists noted that Maine is entering its late-fall transition period, and while it’s too early to predict snow, forecasters are monitoring the potential for wintry systems later in November.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and use caution when driving in windy conditions Monday night into Tuesday.
