Caribou, ME – The National Weather Service in Caribou reports that cloudy and cool weather will persist through the weekend as an upper-level trough lingers over Maine, bringing occasional light rain and fog, particularly across northern and Downeast areas.

According to forecasters, Saturday will feature partly to mostly cloudy skies with daytime highs in the upper 40s to low 50s, while overnight lows fall into the 30s. Light showers are possible in northern and coastal Maine, especially near Presque Isle, Caribou, and Bar Harbor, before tapering off late in the day.

Tonight, mostly cloudy skies continue with a chance of river valley fog. Another weak system could bring light rain or wet snow at higher elevations early Sunday, changing back to rain as temperatures rise above freezing.

Looking ahead, high pressure will move north early next week before a developing low-pressure system from the south brings the next potential for widespread rainfall later in the week. The NWS notes that forecast confidence remains low due to uncertain storm track and timing.

Residents should continue monitoring updates from the US National Weather Service Caribou, ME, for forecast refinements into next week.
