Caribou, Maine – Sunshine and warm air will dominate Wednesday across Maine, but scattered thunderstorms could disrupt the afternoon in the Western Highlands and Western Aroostook County. Inland highs are expected to reach the upper 70s, with skies turning mostly clear by tonight as lows fall near 50.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, conditions stay favorable Thursday with more sunshine and highs in the upper 70s. By Friday, however, an occluded front is expected to bring showers—mainly north—stretching into Friday night. Temperatures will range from the low 70s in the north to mid-70s across southern zones.
A stronger wave of low pressure may push in Saturday, bringing a more widespread rain threat. While forecasters note uncertainty in the track of the system, interior southern Maine could see highs near 80 before the front pushes through. Northern areas may stay closer to 70.
Sunday and Monday look cooler and drier statewide, with highs running from the 60s north to near 70 in the south. Residents planning outdoor events should keep close watch on updates heading into Saturday as rainfall potential sharpens.
