Caribou, ME – A departing low-pressure system over the Northern Maritimes is bringing gusty winds and scattered showers across parts of northern Maine today, according to the National Weather Service in Caribou.
Forecasters say conditions will be mostly cloudy with a few showers across the north, while areas farther south see partly sunny skies. Temperatures will range from the mid-40s in northern Maine to the low 50s along the Downeast coast.
Tonight, skies will clear from south to north as winds ease. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-20s in the colder valleys and the low 30s elsewhere, under the glow of a waxing gibbous moon.
Sunday will feature sunny to partly cloudy and cool weather, with highs from the mid-40s north to near 50 along the coast. By Monday, southerly winds will increase along with clouds, pushing highs into the 50s statewide.
An occluded front is expected to move through Monday night, bringing a tenth to a quarter inch of rain to parts of the state.
Travelers and boaters should remain alert for gusty conditions today, especially in northern and coastal zones.
