Caribou, Maine – Clear skies will keep northern and eastern Maine dry through Tuesday, but patchy fog is expected to settle into river valleys late tonight. Temperatures will climb a few degrees warmer than recent days, with highs reaching the low to mid-70s across much of the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, partly to mostly sunny skies continue Monday and Tuesday before clouds increase midweek. A few showers could develop Wednesday afternoon, mainly across the Central Highlands and northward, but overall dry weather will quickly return Thursday.

Travelers along Route 1 and I-95 can expect smooth conditions through midweek, though morning fog may reduce visibility in low-lying areas. By Friday, a cold front is forecast to move into the region, bringing widespread rain and cooler temperatures into Saturday. The system could affect outdoor plans and create slick road conditions heading into the weekend.

Residents are advised to take advantage of the dry stretch early in the week to prepare for wetter conditions Friday night into Saturday. Additional advisories may be issued as the front approaches.
