Boston, Mass. – Clouds will dominate the early Memorial Day skies across Massachusetts, but sunshine is expected to break through by late morning, bringing a mild and pleasant afternoon for holiday celebrations.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, sky cover will decrease sharply across most of the state starting around 9 a.m. Monday, with clearer conditions taking over by noon. Boston, Worcester, and Springfield will see morning cloud cover above 60%, dropping to under 30% by early afternoon. Temperatures across the region will climb steadily, reaching highs in the mid-to-upper 60s by 3 p.m.

In coastal areas like Hyannis, New Bedford, and Nantucket, clearing may be slightly slower but still noticeable by midday. Expect highs between 58°F and 62°F, ideal for beach walks or backyard grilling.

Drivers should be cautious in the early morning as low visibility may linger through 8 a.m. due to thicker cloud cover, especially along Route 3 and I-90. No rainfall is expected, and winds will remain light.

Skies remain mostly clear into the evening, offering a comfortable end to the long weekend. More sunshine and seasonable warmth are on tap for Tuesday as spring continues to hold steady.
