Pueblo, CO – A Frost Advisory has been issued for the Canon City area and eastern Fremont County, with temperatures expected to dip near 30°F early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. MDT Tuesday and includes the cities of Canon City and Penrose.

Forecasters warn that the cold temperatures will likely lead to frost formation, which can harm or kill sensitive outdoor plants if left unprotected. The NWS recommends covering garden plants, moving potted flowers indoors, and protecting outdoor plumbing before temperatures fall overnight.

This frost advisory follows a day of gusty winds and cooler air moving across southern Colorado, signaling a transition toward more seasonable fall conditions.

Temperatures are expected to rebound by late Tuesday morning, with afternoon highs climbing back into the upper 50s and low 60s.
