Mount Holly, NJ – The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Frost Advisory for parts of central and southern New Jersey overnight, as temperatures are expected to fall to around 34 degrees by early Sunday morning.
The advisory remains in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. EST Sunday, Nov. 2, and includes Middlesex, Monmouth, Camden, Gloucester, Burlington, Ocean, and Atlantic Counties, with communities such as Freehold, Cherry Hill, Hammonton, and New Brunswick expected to experience light frost.
According to forecasters, frost formation could harm or kill sensitive plants and crops if left uncovered. Residents are urged to bring potted plants indoors, cover gardens, and protect outdoor vegetation before temperatures drop overnight.
Calm winds and clear skies will combine to create ideal conditions for frost formation. While the chill will be brief, this advisory serves as a seasonal reminder for residents to begin winterizing outdoor plants and irrigation systems.
Temperatures are expected to rebound into the upper 50s and low 60s later Sunday, offering a mild afternoon following the early frost.
