Ebensburg, PA – Pennsylvania State Police are renewing their call for public assistance in the long-unsolved disappearance of Robert Kenneth Woods, a Cambria County man last seen nearly five decades ago. Investigators say a $5,000 cash reward is now being offered for information that helps solve the case.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police Troop A – Ebensburg Station, Woods was last seen on Thursday, December 9, 1976, between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., while shopping with his brother-in-law at the Gee Gee Food Store in Richland Township, Cambria County. After the shopping trip, Woods dropped his brother-in-law off at his residence and was never seen again.

State police say Woods was last heard from on Monday, December 13, 1976, when he reportedly called off work at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation at approximately 6:27 a.m. Authorities have not confirmed his whereabouts after that call.

Investigators believe Woods was driving a maroon 1970 Chevrolet four-door sedan bearing Pennsylvania registration 57X763. He was reportedly seen operating the vehicle earlier on December 9, around noon, when leaving his residence.

At the time of his disappearance, Woods was 29 years old, stood 6 feet tall, and weighed approximately 160 pounds. He had blonde hair, medium length with balding on top, hazel eyes, and was last known to be wearing a light gray jacket. No photographs of Woods are currently available, according to police.
