Sacramento, CA – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park until 4 a.m. PST Sunday, with heavy snowfall and strong winds creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Sacramento, snow levels will remain above 6,500 feet, with total accumulations of 12 to 18 inches above 7,000 feet and up to 2 feet on the highest peaks. Wind gusts could reach 45 mph in most areas, with the highest peaks experiencing gusts up to 60 mph.

Travelers should prepare for slippery roads, potential chain controls, and delays, particularly during the heaviest snowfall overnight Friday into early Saturday. Strong winds may also bring down tree branches, further increasing hazards.
