Yosemite, CA – A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of Central California, including Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Heavy snowfall and strong winds are expected, impacting holiday travel.

According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are forecast above 6,000 feet, with isolated amounts up to 12 inches at higher elevations. Winds could gust up to 40 mph, further reducing visibility. The affected areas include Lodgepole, Shaver Lake, and the Grant Grove area.

Travelers should anticipate hazardous driving conditions during the morning and evening commutes. Officials advise drivers to slow down, carry chains, and check road conditions by dialing 511.

The storm may also disrupt holiday plans in popular park areas, including Wawona and the Giant Forest. Visitors are urged to monitor updates and prepare for delays.

Stay safe by planning ahead and avoiding unnecessary travel during peak storm hours. For live updates on road and weather conditions, visit the National Weather Service website.
