California Weekend Outlook: Sacramento Residents Can Expect Foggy Starts, Showers Likely by Saturday

Sacramento, CA – Sacramento residents will face dense fog and patchy sunshine through Thursday morning before a shift in weather patterns brings potential rain showers into the weekend. Drivers should take caution during morning commutes, with visibility dropping to near zero in parts of the valley.

According to the National Weather Service Sacramento Office, widespread fog will linger through Thursday morning, clearing by late morning as temperatures climb to the upper 50s. Today’s high is expected near 54°F, with calm winds and mostly cloudy skies. Visibility in some areas will remain limited until 9 a.m., impacting major routes like Interstate 5 and Highway 99.

By Friday, morning fog is again expected, giving way to clearer skies and slightly warmer conditions with highs near 60°F. However, rain showers move into the region late Friday night, bringing a 60% chance of precipitation.

The weekend forecast shows a greater chance of showers, especially on Saturday. Residents should plan for a wet Saturday with highs reaching 58°F and a 90% chance of rain. Sunday will remain mostly cloudy with lingering showers and temperatures near 59°F.

Drivers are advised to remain cautious during foggy mornings, reduce speeds, and use headlights to ensure safety. Residents should also prepare for changing conditions, particularly for outdoor activities planned over the weekend.
