Eureka, Calif. – A dangerous stretch of triple-digit heat will grip inland Northern California this weekend, with temperatures expected to soar as high as 105°F from Saturday morning through Sunday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, a Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday for interior areas of Del Norte and Humboldt Counties, including Hoopa, Willow Creek, Benbow, and Orleans. Additional advisories remain in place for Lake and Mendocino Counties beginning Friday, with extreme heat expected to linger through the weekend.
Residents in Ukiah, Clearlake, Covelo, and Willits should prepare for dangerously hot conditions, particularly in low-lying valleys where highs will top 100°F. Overnight relief may be limited in higher elevations, where lows could remain in the 70s.
Health officials urge residents to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors, and check on elderly neighbors. Air-conditioned spaces and shaded areas are strongly recommended for anyone sensitive to heat.
Heat risks remain elevated through Sunday evening, with more advisories possible if conditions persist into next week.
