SAN DIEGO, Calif. – A quick-hitting Pacific storm will bring gusty winds and periods of heavy rain to San Diego County through Tuesday afternoon, prompting a Wind Advisory until 3 p.m. The system is expected to deliver brief thunderstorms, localized ponding, and rough surf before clearing skies midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, winds will gust up to 35 mph near coastal mesas and mountain passes, with the strongest bursts expected during the morning commute. Rainfall totals between a quarter and half an inch are likely, though heavier downpours may occur in isolated storms.

Drivers along I-5, I-8, and SR-163 should plan for slick conditions and reduced visibility through early afternoon. The gusty crosswinds may also impact high-profile vehicles along SR-78 and the I-15 corridor. Scattered showers will taper off Tuesday evening as drier air returns from the northwest.

By Wednesday, skies will turn mostly sunny with highs near 68°F. A steady warming trend will follow, with temperatures reaching the low to mid-70s by Friday and into the weekend. Winds will ease considerably after Tuesday, allowing for calmer coastal and inland conditions.

According to forecasters, the dry pattern will hold through early next week, marking a return to classic Southern California sunshine after the quick burst of fall rain.
