LOS ANGELES – A calm Halloween dawn glows over Southern California, the city still and the skyline wrapped in a faint, milky haze. The early chill won’t last long — warm sunshine and steady breezes will bring a picture-perfect fall weekend to Los Angeles and the valleys beyond.

According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, temperatures across the basin will climb into the low 80s both Saturday and Sunday under clear skies. Light winds and dry air will keep humidity low, making conditions ideal for trick-or-treat plans, beach trips, or late-season outdoor dining. Inland neighborhoods like Pasadena, Burbank, and Northridge will trend slightly warmer, while the coastal strip stays closer to the mid-70s.

Patchy morning fog will return briefly along the shoreline through early Sunday but should burn off quickly. The next significant change arrives late Sunday into Monday as a thicker marine layer pushes inland again, bringing cooler mornings, reduced visibility on I-10 and Highway 1, and slightly lower daytime highs.

No rain is expected through the weekend, but early November trends suggest a gradual cooldown across Southern California. Forecasters are watching for the season’s first stronger onshore flow by midweek — a possible sign of November’s wetter pattern finally taking hold.

For now, the final weekend of October offers a stretch of calm, clear weather across Los Angeles County. Residents planning early decorating or home projects should make use of this stable stretch before next week’s coastal fog and cooler air settle back in.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, adding an extra hour of rest before the week’s shift.
