LOS ANGELES – Soft gray fog blankets the L.A. Basin early this morning, curling low around palm trunks and dimming downtown’s skyline glow. But that haze won’t last long — by late morning, sunshine breaks through, ushering in a warmer, brighter stretch that pushes East L.A. toward 90°F by Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Oxnard, patchy fog lingers through mid-morning Sunday before skies clear and temperatures climb near 73°F. Light breezes will keep air quality moderate, but inland valleys and foothills warm quickly over the next 48 hours. Monday’s highs reach the upper 70s, and by Tuesday, a mini heat wave brings mid- to upper-80s across much of Los Angeles County, peaking near 90°F downtown and across East L.A. neighborhoods.

Residents should plan for sun exposure and hydrate if working outdoors. Pavement and vehicle interiors may heat rapidly by midafternoon, especially near I-10 and I-5 corridors. Coastal areas stay cooler, hovering near 80°F, while the San Gabriel foothills see the highest readings.

Winds remain light, with occasional afternoon gusts from the north. The warm pattern holds through Thursday before a gradual cool-down by the weekend — just in time for Halloween festivities. Early signs suggest clear, comfortable trick-or-treat weather Friday evening, with mild breezes and temperatures near 70°F at dusk.

After that, models hint at cooler Pacific air sliding inland — the first taste of a chilly November waiting just offshore.

Five-Day Outlook for East L.A., CA:
Sun: 73/57 – Patchy fog, then sunny.
Mon: 77/60 – Sunny and warmer.
Tue: 90/62 – Hot; peak of warm-up.
Wed: 90/61 – Sunny; light breeze.
Thu: 84/60 – Warm, sunny finish to week.
