Los Angeles, Calif. – Morning drivers across Los Angeles County could see reduced visibility through midweek as patchy fog lingers before giving way to sunny afternoons and highs climbing into the upper 80s.
According to the National Weather Service in Oxnard, fog is expected to form nightly and persist until late morning each day, with clearer skies and rising temperatures by midday. Afternoon highs will reach near 90 degrees Sunday, with slightly cooler conditions returning by Wednesday.
The combination of overnight moisture and daytime heat could affect commuters along the 5, 10, and 101 freeways, where visibility may be reduced early in the morning. Beach communities from Santa Monica to Long Beach are also likely to see dense fog before sunshine breaks through by late morning.
Officials recommend giving extra travel time during early commutes and using low-beam headlights in fog. Residents should also stay hydrated as temperatures approach 90 degrees, particularly inland areas such as Pasadena, Burbank, and East L.A.
The warming trend is expected to ease by Wednesday, with highs dipping back into the upper 70s and patchy fog continuing during overnight and early morning hours.
