Fresno, CA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for portions of Central California, with significant snowfall expected from Saturday through Monday. The advisory includes areas such as Tehachapi, Frazier Park, Yosemite Valley, and the surrounding Sierra.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall is expected to begin Saturday morning in some areas, with heavier accumulation likely by the evening. Up to 15 inches of snow could accumulate above 8,000 feet in the Sierra, while areas at 6,000 feet could see up to 6 inches. Lower elevations near 3,500 feet, including Tehachapi and Grapevine, may receive up to 2 inches.
Travel conditions could become hazardous, especially on bridges, overpasses, and mountain roads. Officials advise motorists to slow down, prepare for delays, and check road conditions through California’s 511 hotline.
The advisory will remain active until 4 PM Monday. Residents in affected areas are encouraged to prepare for slick roads and difficult travel conditions throughout the weekend.
