Conditions improve by afternoon with partial sunshine and highs near 59 degrees. Still, the ocean remains dangerous.
According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, elevated surf and strong rip currents will continue through the evening. Swimmers and surfers face hazardous conditions, especially near piers and jetties.

Skies clear tonight with lows near 44 degrees. Saturday turns sunny with a high near 67 degrees and lighter northeast winds. By Sunday, sunshine continues and highs climb to 71 degrees, reinforcing a warming trend into early next week.
Monday and Tuesday bring mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-70s. Temperatures remain near or slightly below seasonal averages through the weekend, then trend warmer into the midweek period. Longer-range signals point toward above-normal readings in the 6–10 day window, signaling stronger spring warmth ahead.
For now, beach hazards remain the primary concern through this evening. No inland advisories are in effect.
