California – A crisp 57°F start greets San Diego this morning, with mostly clear skies slowly giving way to a warmer afternoon. The weather is set to shift dramatically, with rain expected to roll in by the end of the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, today will see gradual clearing, with highs reaching 67°F by midday. Winds remain light, making for a pleasant day, especially along the coast and downtown. If you’re commuting on I-5 or taking a stroll near Mission Beach, expect dry conditions.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs near 59°F before cloud cover rolls in by evening. Sunday, however, brings a different story—an 80% chance of rain begins in the early hours of the day, continuing through the afternoon and into the evening. Expect slower travel times on I-8 and I-15 as showers spread across the city.

For Monday, Washington’s Birthday, the rain persists. With a 60% chance of showers, high temperatures will remain in the lower 60s. Visibility could be reduced during downpours, so give yourself extra time if you’re heading out to events or early morning activities.

Tuesday through the middle of the week will bring scattered showers, tapering off by Wednesday. As the system clears out, drier conditions should return, but temperatures will stay mild.

Travelers should watch out for wet conditions, especially Sunday and Monday, with some localized flooding possible in low-lying areas.
