SACRAMENTO, Calif. – After a damp start to the week, Sacramento’s skies are clearing — ushering in several days of classic fall sunshine and mild warmth. Brief early-morning showers are tapering off across the region, setting the stage for a dry, golden stretch heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, clouds will clear quickly Wednesday as a ridge of high pressure builds over Northern California. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 60s Wednesday, then steadily climb toward the mid-70s by Friday and Saturday. Winds will remain light, and the air will stay comfortably dry — ideal for outdoor chores, fall festivals, and travel along Interstate 5 and Highway 99.

The calm stretch is expected to last through the weekend, with clear skies and cool mornings. Friday’s high will near 71°F under full sun, while Saturday and Sunday will push close to 75°F — perfect for pumpkin patch visits, backyard gatherings, and leaf-viewing in the foothills.

Early next week, Sacramento may see another weak front approach from the Pacific, but forecasters say rain chances remain low. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 40s and low 50s, signaling cool mornings but no frost risk yet.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the dry pattern to finish outdoor projects or decorate for Halloween before the next system arrives late next week.
