Sacramento, California – Summer heat is building in Sacramento, where temperatures are climbing into the low 90s by Wednesday, kicking off a week of sunny, dry weather across Northern California.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will top out around 88°F with light northwest winds. The real heat arrives Wednesday, when Sacramento could hit a high of 92°F under cloudless skies. Wind gusts near 6 mph may offer brief relief, but UV exposure will remain high from late morning through early evening.

Local agencies urge residents to limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours, especially those commuting on exposed routes like Highway 99 or I-5. Wear light clothing, hydrate often, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles. With no rain in sight, the region enters a pattern resembling early summer.

Clear nights will follow the daytime warmth, with temperatures dropping into the upper 50s through midweek before a slight cool-down begins Friday. Highs on Thursday will ease to around 86°F before leveling out at a more comfortable 81°F Friday.

This consistent pattern continues into the weekend, with sunny skies and highs near 87°F expected Saturday through Memorial Day. Winds remain light and variable, and no weather alerts are currently in place.
