SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Drivers across the Sacramento Valley may face slick conditions Tuesday as scattered showers develop during the morning commute. A 30 percent rain chance targets the city and surrounding highways, including I-5 and Highway 50, raising concerns for slower travel and reduced visibility.

According to the National Weather Service, light rainfall may arrive after 11 a.m. Tuesday with totals under a tenth of an inch. While not a major storm, damp roads could still create hazards for morning drivers. Winds will stay light from the southwest at 3 to 6 mph.

Tuesday’s high is expected near 78 degrees, followed by partly cloudy skies Tuesday night with lows around 60. The unsettled pattern lingers Wednesday with another 30 percent chance of rain before conditions clear out late Wednesday night.

By Thursday, Sacramento warms back to the low 80s under mostly sunny skies, though a slight rain chance remains early in the day. Sunshine fully returns Friday, pushing highs back into the upper 80s. Residents should prepare for cooler mornings but also keep umbrellas close for midweek showers.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time Tuesday and Wednesday, especially during peak rush hours. Keep headlights on in light rain, slow down on slick pavement, and avoid sudden lane changes.

Weather officials emphasize that conditions should improve by late week, but updates may follow if Tuesday’s rain intensifies.
