Residents across the San Francisco Bay Area should prepare for rainy conditions, slick roads, high surf, and frost warnings that will persist through Friday. The National Weather Service forecasts rain in North Bay coastal areas, with totals reaching up to 1 inch. The Santa Cruz Mountains and Santa Lucia Range could see up to 0.25 inches, with lighter rainfall expected elsewhere. Drivers are advised to slow down and allow extra travel time due to potentially hazardous road conditions, particularly on major routes like US-101.

According to the National Weather Service, a High Surf Advisory remains active along the Pacific Coast, with waves expected to reach 12 to 15 feet and up to 20 feet on northwest-facing beaches. The advisory, in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday, poses risks for beachgoers, who are urged to keep a safe distance from the water and avoid venturing onto slick rocks or piers.

A Frost Advisory is also in place for the southern interior, lasting until 8 a.m. Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to dip overnight, creating frost conditions that could impact early-morning commuters and anyone working outdoors.

Looking ahead, the Bay Area can anticipate a mix of drizzly and mostly cloudy weather through Friday, with daytime highs ranging between the upper 40s and low 60s. Friday night will bring mostly clear skies before a sunny start to the weekend on Saturday, with temperatures reaching up to 60 degrees.
