San Diego, California – Patchy fog will blanket much of San Diego County early Wednesday, disrupting morning visibility before summer-like sunshine takes hold by mid-day.
According to the National Weather Service, fog is expected to linger through 11 a.m., especially near coastal routes including I-5, I-8, and I-805. Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility during the morning commute. Once skies clear, Wednesday will turn mostly sunny with highs near 79°F. Winds will increase slightly out of the southwest at 10 mph.
Thursday brings a similar pattern with patchy morning fog clearing to sunshine and highs around 77°F. Evening conditions remain calm and mostly cloudy, with lows dipping into the upper 50s.
By Friday, a marine layer is expected to thicken, leading to mostly cloudy skies throughout the day and cooler highs near 72°F. The weekend forecast trends grayer, with Saturday starting cloudy before partial sun breaks through. Highs will hold in the low 70s.
Memorial Day Monday looks mild and mostly sunny, with highs again in the low 70s—a pleasant setup for beachgoers and holiday travelers, though morning clouds could delay sun until afternoon.
Looking ahead, the next five days will feature consistent coastal fog, especially overnight and early mornings. No major storm systems are expected, but the recurring cloud cover may slow early-day outdoor plans.
Drivers should stay alert each morning through Memorial Day for fog-prone zones and adjust travel accordingly.
