San Francisco, Calif. – Gray clouds are slowly giving way to brighter skies across the Bay this morning, and the familiar marine layer is already beginning to retreat offshore. By this afternoon, sunshine will break through for many neighborhoods, setting the stage for the warmest stretch of weather so far this week across San Francisco.

According to the National Weather Service San Francisco Bay Area/Monterey, temperatures will climb to around 70 degrees Monday under partly sunny skies. A light west-southwest breeze of 5 to 11 mph will keep conditions comfortable, while the cool morning air gradually gives way to a pleasant summer afternoon.

The warming trend becomes more noticeable Tuesday as clouds decrease and afternoon highs reach 75 degrees. Wednesday remains mostly sunny with another high near 75 degrees, offering ideal weather for commuters, outdoor lunch breaks, and waterfront activities before slightly cooler air returns later in the week.

Drivers along U.S. 101, Interstate 80, and the Bay Bridge should expect typical summer visibility improvements by late morning as low clouds lift. Roads remain dry, and no weather-related travel issues are anticipated. Layers are still a good idea for anyone heading out early, as temperatures began the day in the upper 50s.

No rain, thunderstorms, or significant wind events are expected through Thursday. The active monsoonal pattern affecting portions of the Southwest remains well away from Northern California, and wildfire smoke is not expected to significantly affect San Francisco at this time.

By Thursday, highs ease back to around 71 degrees under mostly sunny skies. The weather stays seasonable, with cool evenings and comfortable afternoons continuing across the Bay Area.

Long-range outlooks continue to favor above-normal temperatures across parts of California later next week, although coastal San Francisco should continue benefiting from periodic marine air that helps limit extreme heat.
