Los Angeles, California – Dangerous heat is set to surge across Southern California beginning Wednesday, with temperatures in parts of Los Angeles County expected to top 100°F. A Heat Advisory remains in effect from 11 a.m. Wednesday through 9 p.m. Thursday, targeting much of the inland and valley regions—including areas along Interstate 5, US-101, and I-10.

According to the National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard office, the advisory covers a wide region including the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, and parts of Ventura County. The heat will build rapidly Wednesday, peaking Thursday with highs between 95°F and 100°F, especially in low-lying valleys. Officials warn of elevated health risks, particularly for young children, seniors, and anyone without access to cooling.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 89°F, rising to 87°F on Thursday in downtown LA, but hotter in valley areas. Patchy fog returns Friday morning, followed by mild weekend temperatures in the low to mid-80s, ideal for outdoor plans.
