Conditions improve quickly as the week begins. Sunshine becomes more consistent Monday with temperatures climbing to around 64°F in Eureka and nearby Arcata. Winds remain light, allowing coastal communities to enjoy calmer weather compared with recent stormy stretches across the broader Pacific Northwest.
By St. Patrick’s Day Tuesday, the warming trend continues with highs approaching 65°F under mostly sunny skies. The air will feel noticeably brighter and warmer along the coast as inland ridging strengthens across much of California.
Midweek brings the warmest stretch of the pattern. Wednesday and Thursday could reach near 67°F in Eureka, with partly sunny skies and mild afternoons across Humboldt Bay.
Drivers along U.S. Highway 101, Highway 255 near Arcata Bay, and coastal roads around Samoa should still remain cautious during early morning hours when fog pockets linger.
After fog clears, the region should enjoy several days of stable spring weather with comfortable daytime temperatures and cool nights in the upper 40s.
Meteorologists say the calmer stretch contrasts with wetter weather developing farther north across Washington and Oregon.
