Sacramento, CA – A thick, silvery mist clings to orchards and fields across the valley this morning, swallowing headlights and softening skyline outlines. Dense fog continues to blanket much of the Sacramento region, reducing visibility to under a half mile in spots and making early travel on I-5, Highway 50, and Route 99 slow and cautious.

The National Weather Service reports that calm winds and cool, moist air will trap fog near the surface through midmorning. Drivers are urged to use low beams and slow speeds—patchy fog can vary suddenly between clear and near-whiteout conditions.

By afternoon, skies gradually brighten with highs near 46°F, offering a short window of sun before fog settles again late in the evening. Friday follows a similar pattern: cool, hazy starts with partial clearing by midday.

Saturday looks to bring more sunshine and warmth, with highs near 45–46°F, while Sunday turns partly sunny—ideal for early holiday shopping or outdoor plans. Looking ahead to early next week, light showers may return by Monday and Tuesday as a weak Pacific system drifts inland.
