HANFORD, California – A silver mist blankets the fields this morning, softening headlights and swallowing fence lines along the valley highways. Visibility in parts of the San Joaquin Valley has dropped to a quarter mile or less, prompting a Dense Fog Advisory from the National Weather Service in Hanford until 10 a.m. PST.

Drivers across Kings, Tulare, and Fresno Counties should slow down and use low-beam headlights during their morning commute. The fog is expected to lift by late morning as sunshine breaks through, but until then, slick pavement and hidden intersections will make travel challenging along Highway 99, I-5, and Route 198.

According to meteorologists, calm winds and lingering moisture from earlier in the week are helping the fog form rapidly before sunrise. Once it clears, the Central Valley will enjoy a stretch of classic November warmth, with highs reaching near 70°F to 78°F through Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday stay sunny and mild, offering great weather for outdoor chores, sports, or early holiday errands. Nights will remain cool, dipping into the low 50s, allowing for light fog patches to return around dawn. By Monday, another sunny day will lead into slightly cooler air ahead of Veterans Day, when temperatures may fall back into the lower 70s.

No rain is in sight for the weekend, but forecasters are watching for a pattern shift next week as Pacific moisture builds offshore — a possible early November “Winter Tease” for California’s northern half.

Five-Day Outlook for Hanford, CA:

Sat: 73/51 – Sunny and calm.
Sun: 78/51 – Bright and mild.
