Sacramento, CA – A Winter Weather Advisory begins at 10 p.m. tonight for elevations above 3,500 feet in the Sierra Nevada. Snow accumulations of 1-5 inches are expected between 4,500 and 6,000 feet, with 4-10 inches possible above 6,000 feet.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory lasts until 1 p.m. Monday. Wind gusts could reach 25 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions. Snow-covered and slippery roads may cause delays, particularly for Sunday and Monday morning commuters.

Drivers should prepare for chain controls and reduced visibility. Authorities urge caution on mountain passes, where conditions will deteriorate quickly.

The Sierra Nevada often experiences late-season snowfall, but road impacts vary. Travelers should check updates before driving through affected areas.
