San Carlos, CA – A driver was arrested Tuesday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision on US-101 southbound in San Carlos that injured another person.
According to the California Highway Patrol Redwood City Area, the crash occurred at approximately 1:08 p.m. near the Holly Street overcrossing. Preliminary reports indicate the driver of a green Ford Mustang Mach E allegedly struck a red Mitsubishi Mirage before colliding with the right shoulder wall.
Investigators determined the Mustang was not in autonomous mode at the time of the crash. Officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. Authorities said the incident resulted in injuries to another individual, though the extent of those injuries was not immediately disclosed.
The CHP noted that while a video of the crash has been shared on social media, such footage may not capture the full context or investigative details. The agency stressed that each case is handled professionally, thoroughly, and in accordance with the law.
Officials urged motorists to report suspected impaired or dangerous driving by calling 911.
